VITEMA Employees Graduate from FEMA's Emergency Manager Basic Academy 

Thirty-two students from across the United States recently graduated from FEMA’s Emergency Manager Basic Academy at the Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Md., after they completed training courses that provide the basic knowledge and skills to help them meet the unpredictable challenges in the field of emergency management. 

Two of the students who graduated from EMI’s Emergency Manager Basic Academy were Denise Lewis of Christiansted and Linda Williams of Saint John.

Jonetta Darden, Deputy Director for Grants Management Retires after 30 years of service

After 30 years of dedicated and loyal service, Jonetta Darden, Deputy Director for Grants Management has retired from VITEMA. 

Director Lewis: "VITEMA’s family extends our appreciation to your family members also for their understanding during the many times you were summoned to perform your duties during emergencies and especially during hurricane seasons. Even though at times some may not have expressed their appreciation or given you the necessary support to complete your job, you nevertheless continued to dedicate yourself in order to complete your mission. For this, VITEMA stands indebted."
